S, Gridharan, CEO and Chairman of EdServ said, “Nokia has approved our HumThum Apps for hosting the apps in Nokia Ovi Apps Store and the apps is now available to run inside all Nokia smartphones.”
He added that the agreement between the two companies will allow the students an access to wide array of education-related content including Skill Development, Tuition Academics and Test Prep Services, which has already been available on www.lampsglow.com, the company’s flagship education and career portal, but can now can comfortably be used on Nokia’s smartphones through the new education apps.
With the use of the new HumThum apps on the Nokia smartphone, students can easily learn and gauge upon career opportunities. The EdServ’s app will contain a PDF converter that will convert the smartphone into a photocopier or a mobile scanner.
The HumThum apps consist of a ‘Talking Dictionary’ which explain meaning and pronunciation of all English words. Moreover, the users can easily create, manage and update their own business or personal website through their Nokia mobile phones.
S. Giridharan added that the EdServ, a reputed mobile education support company, already accounts for over 2.5lakh users on its education and career portal www.lampsglow.com, where over 50 per cent of the total users belong to the mobile segment. However, by the end of 2012, the company aims to reach a targeted figure of over 1crore active users for its mobile application.
EdServ is integrating talks with other leading mobile manufacturing companies to reach to a wider audience base by offering mobile education. S. Giridharan said that as an established mobile based education support company serving the interest of students from kinder garden to post-graduation, the reach of EdServ is extensive.
